SEPARATION OF WASTE MATERIALS AND RUBBISH
 

The pupils have 4 – 6 lessons every day from Monday to Friday.
They learn obligatory subjects : Slovak, English, German, French, Civics, History, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Science, Craft, Gardening, Information Technology, Art, Music , Games and Physical Education, Reklligious Studies ( both Catholic and Protestant Church ) , Ethics.

Department of FOREIGN LANGUAGES :

English – extended teaching of language : the 1st - the 9th class , German – extended teaching of language : the 1st - the 9th class , French – the 7th – the 9th class .
English and German are taught as the first foreign language, French is taught as the second foreign language later.

Department of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY :

Computers, Information Technologies and Internet are offered every day as the obligatory subject. The pupils can use computers and Internet at the computer room every afternoon , except Saturday and Sunday. The school has its own web page :

CULTURAL LIFE :

There is a  drama group called „ The little buds “. They prepare the school plays in their drama club and they represent the school at special theatre competitions .

The pupils learn dances ( waltz, tango, rumba, cha-cha, jive, foxtrot, disco and other kinds of dance ) at the dance school, once a week in the afternoon.

SPORT ACTIVITIES :

They are performed after school and at the weekends ( competitions ).
The children are trained in the special sport centres :
VOLLEYBALL school centre
CYCLING centre for talented youth
TABLE TENNIS centre
FOOTBALL centre
CANOEING centre

KNOWLEDGE COMPETITIONS :

The pupils take part in special knowledge competitions called knowledge olympiads and they are often successful, especially in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Science, Geography and foreign languages : English and German.

The pupils elect and form the school parliament, consisted of pupil members with actual president Eva Hriňová.

The school takes children of all abilities and provides a wide range of education, both academic and practical. Handicapped children are allowed to attend this Basic school from the 1^st to the 9^th class.

We would like to CONTACT a secondary comprehensive school and begin the mutual cooperation and exchange of experience, pupils and teachers, supported mainly by Socrates programmes. We are interested in the countries where English and German is spoken as an official language.
